Born on 10th May 1959 in Galizes, in the municipality of Oliveira do Hospital, I moved to Coimbra at the age of five — the city where I studied and worked. Was a computer programmer and entrepreneur in the software industry.
It took just over two years of hard work to bring this place to life. Every stone used in the buildings and outer walls was hand-carried from Zambujal. The “Moinho dos Sentidos” was built by me over the course of eight months. In winter, I started work before sunrise — I was the one waking the birds. Sometimes, after mixing and applying the first batch of cement, I had to wait for it to thaw before continuing. On rainy days, I’d change clothes two or three times, but I never stopped. I was persistent. Faith is what keeps you fighting.
